British APCO is unique in the UK and indeed throughout Europe as the only multi-discipline, multi-level Association for public safety communications and information systems managers, users, maintainers and providers. BAPCO has a wide UK membership and a growing European network and they have strong working relationships with partners and contacts across the EU.  BAPCO interfaces with and advises various governmental bodies and organisations in the UK and Europe.

In recent years, BAPCO has participated in, and gained good experience from, a number of European projects (SECRICOM, ABSOLUTE, REDIRNET) and European Space Agency (ESA) funded initiatives and this involvement provided much valued user input and guidance. BAPCO is seeking to build on its successes and further develop and grow its involvement in research and development both in the UK and across Europe.
